Hardishake shingles sliding off the roof?
I got a phone call this past week from a nice guy out in South Carolina.
He has Hardishake shingles on his roof. He bought the house with the shingles already installed... they weren't his choice, but now he's got to deal with the mess. The concrete tiles are sliding off the roof. Everytime there's a storm, he's picking shingles up out of his yard.
Fortunately for him, his roof already has a solid deck. If he has to replace the shingles out of his own pocket, he can put down a composition roof for about 1/3 the cost of what Hardishake originally cost.
I tried to give him as much free advice as I could. The roofer he called out didn't even know what type of shingle he was walking on... walking on Hardishake can be a BIG mistake.
